Brooks Museum of Art

So here are some photos of where our ceremony/reception will actually be taking place - this is the Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis, Tennessee - I knew i wanted to get married somewhere "different" and since gene and I aren't particularly religious, we don't really have an attachment to a church - I kept trying to find places near little rock, but never found anywhere that was just right - i wanted classy mixed with quirky, and  I had quite a bit of trouble even coming up with places around here that felt like it encompassed both of those things - I was looking through southern bride when i saw a featured wedding that took place at the Brooks, and I loved everything i saw - gene and i looked at the website, and we both agreed that it looked like somewhere neat to get married, so we went with my parents to check it out and i just fell in love with it - these pictures don't do it justice, and when the courtyard is set up for a wedding, its just really adorable.

above is the courtyard where our ceremony will take place - believe it or not, but you can fit over 200 people in this tiny space - the fountain kind of irritated me at first, but i saw the place actually set up for a wedding a few weeks ago, and the fountain really fit in well - we will actually get married on the steps in front of those windows - the aisle will be in the middle of that grassy area with chairs on both sides of it  - its really much larger than it looks, but it still feels very "intimate" - im going to put water lilies floating in the fountain , and there are urns up on near the windows and at the back of the garden that we will put floral arrangements in - not sure what else we will do beyond that though.....
this is the entrance that my guests will come through - its called the 1916 entrance  (its not the "everyday" entrance to the museum") - when the guests come in they enter through this really amazing foyer, and then will walk a short bit through the museum out into the courtyard - i think its really neat how by having it in a place like a museum, the atmosphere is pretty much already there -

the reception will be held in the restaurant thats in the museum - i was an idiot and didnt take any pictures of it (i was so excited that i didnt take many pictures at ALL!!!), and attached to the restaurant is this really beautiful covered patio - im excited to talk to some florists to see what the think we can do with this place! i hope they have some great ideas, cause ive pretty much got NONE!

SO exciting and I know it will be perfect. A friend of mine had her wedding there and she it was perfect. The camera is n Olympus and it can go under water, dropped, or in alot of dirt and it still works, pretty great camera.
