curiouser and curiouser....

the past few days have been an emotional roller coaster for me to say the least. as if the stress of getting married and starting a life isn't enough, i've had the added stress of having to absorb the news that we will be moving what, to me, is halfway across the universe in just a handful of months.....but i don't want to talk about that right now.

right now, i need to go back a week, and talk about my fabulous bridal shower that my dear, sweet matrons of honor threw for me - everything about it was so adorable, and they worked so hard, and i love them to death for it!

it had an alice in wonderland theme, and this is yet another time in my life that i wish i'd remembered my camera (you would think by now i would carry around in my gigantic purse - i mean, i have dental floss in there, but no camera...), but i'm lucky because Kim Phillips' husband just so happens to be a pretty great photographer, and was there to capture all the cuteness of the party!

for the sake of the blog, i'll just share a few pictures i got on my phone.....i apologize in advance for their less than stellar quality....but it's a phone, ya know.....i like visuals....

Kim Killingsworth made everyone cupcake favors to take home! the stickers on the boxes have a picture of a tea party scene from alice in wonderland on them!!!

the tea pot where people could leave me words of marriage advice!

adorable decorations on the front porch of the pillow-thompson house where the shower was held.

some of the delicious food! and there was LOTS of it!!! lots of sweets, which are my absolute favorite things to eat in the world! my favorite HAD to be the sugar cookies...YUM!

the mad hatter had apparently been there at some point, but sadly, i missed him.....he left his hat behind though!

TEAPOTS! so freaking cute!!!! and they were EVERYWHERE!

my pictures don't do anything justice....one of the things i wish i'd gotten a picture of were the two different kinds of punch - one that made you shrink, and one that made you grow! ha! i got such a kick out of that...as well as a wicked sugar high...there was a little teapot with notecards for people to write me marriage advice on, and i loved going through and reading what people wrote.

and they even made me a guestbook out of this:

so cute, huh? i told you they were creative!!

anyway, i had such a fun time, and it was a really perfect afternoon! i love my dear friends - "the kims" - for doing something so special for me, and feel so lucky that they will both be there to stand next to me on my wedding day!

Too cute, I hate I had to miss but me & the husband will be there with bells on come June 26th. I might just drag him to the Redbirds game the night before to watch y'all throw out the first pitch.

Charlee, you & Gene are so perfect for each other. My word of marriage advice "As you sit side by side through this roller coaster of life, remember to scream from the peaks, hold hands through the dips, laugh through the loop de-loops, and enjoy every twist and turn." I know England is very far but I thought you would enjoy this bit of advice. Much Love & blessings to you both..see you soon!

rebecca!

If you guys make it to memphis on friday, let me know! y'all can come up to our suite and watch the game in some air conditioning and have some beer and ballpark food with us!!!

I'm sure i'll love england after i've adjusted to the change...i guess i have to back up what i said when i told him i'd "follow him anywhere" - i just never anticipated "everywhere" being across a freaking ocean (this soon, anyway!)
